About Me

Barry Waugh

Hello! my name is Barry Waugh. It is my desire to assist couples and families in special times in their lives, to personalise their ceremony and help to create memorable, fantastic and happy celebrations - for a variety of occasions.

I've been a celebrant for quite a number of years and have been a marriage celebrant since 2004, I am cheerful, caring and easy to talk to. I have been married for 39 years and have 5 children and 5 grandchildren.

I am often asked "why did I become a Celebrant" and the answer is that I have always been a people person. I enjoy meeting new people and as a celebrant I feel priveliged to be a part of the most special times in their lives. The best part of being a celebrant is certainly in seeing the end result of everyone's hard work - The creation of a memory that will last a lifetime.

I am located in Far North Queensland on the beautiful Atherton Tablelands near Cairns and am licensed to conduct ceremonies anywhere in Australia. I have conducted ceremonies in Cairns, Atherton Tablelands, North to the Daintree and Cape York and south to Townsville and Mt. Isa.

As a qualified and experienced celebrant I am authorised to perform a number of ceremonies including Weddings, Namings, Commitment & Renewal of Vows and Ashes Scattering Ceremonies. I have a very high standard for my ceremonies and it is my wish that each and every person that I work with can say that their ceremony was exactly as they wanted it to be. Whether you choose a formal or casual ceremony, traditional or otherwise - no request is to big or too small

Legal Requirements for weddings

Location

If your special event is being held anywhere throughout Far Noth Queensland (eg Cairns), Mid North Queensland (eg Townsville) or the Atherton Tablelands (eg Malanda) then I can gladly be of service! I am happy to hold ceremonies in a wide variety of venues including the beach, a hall, on board a plane or boat, a private home or garden, reception centre or resturaunt.

Weddings

Far North Queensland has long been sought after as a wedding destination, with selected wedding hot spots throughout the area, all of which have stunning views, a range of luxurious accommodation (for the bride, groom & wedding party) and romantic trimmings.

The region has also been host to some of the most unique weddings ever, such as underwater weddings, bunji weddings and yacht weddings. Soon to be married couples come from all over the world to exchange nuptuals here in Far North Queensland, and newlyweds will not find a more beautiful destination.

If you love the thoughts of a tropical wedding, then Far North Queensland is definitely the destination you seek. The region has world class catering and reception services who are quite happy to serve on tables, in the sand, or after walking 10 minutes into a lushly vegetated rainforest.

There are countless exotic and unique wedding locations in the area, and if you want a wedding that is a little bit different, then I encourage you to seek out these special spots.
